A fellow Redditor spotted this cabbie-in-training somewhere near Piccadilly, London. And the hive minds offered more details on what’s this is all about: a prospective London Taxi-Driver learning “the Knowledge” which involves memorizing the street names. So, today I learned that London cab drivers’ Knowledge is based on learning 320 routes (or runs). This will help them learn the 25,000 streets and 20,000 landmarks and places of interest in the six mile radius of Charing Cross. Amazing that it takes between two and four years to pass the All-London Knowledge and once you are licensed you can work anywhere in the Greater London area.
And here is the funny road safety campaign video featuring the sign above. How much I wish America adopted this blunt, yet funny style of conveying the message. Our American campaign signs are boring compared to the Aussies’. PERIOD!
Time and time again have we seen a lot of cool stuff happen in NYC subway. And this video below only adds to the already superchill NYC and takes the awesomeness up one notch. A bunch of super-skilled dancers wearing gas masks and dancing in the subway stations and in the trains is nothing sort of mesmerizing and sorta transformed the subway into a post-apocalyptic backdrop.. Take a look..
Social Media go to site, Mashable.com, ranked this as one of the 6 mind blowing dance videos on YouTube, and offered some insights into dance: “Bonebreaking” is an integrated dance style incorporating tutting, elements of krumping, popping and turfing. Dancers’ movements completely blur the limits of flexibility. The costumes and dramatic NYC subway station backdrops work nicely to enhance the dancing style. The outdoor platform and dripping water effects are haunting and, combined with the gas masks, we’re definitely feeling the post-apocalyptic vibe.”
Great footwork and execution! Samsung has a winner on its hands. Ding, Ding, Ding. A boring evening commute at London’s Victoria Station, got a bit of fun added, courtesy of Samsung as part of its advertisement campaign for its Galaxy Note.
“A football match has just broken out at London Victoria Station.” Watch to see how four footballers use fancy footwork, along with the brilliant screen and innovative S Pen of the Samsung GALAXY Note, to transform a routine commute into a spectacular event for Londoners.
Oh , how I wish our boring commutes are as fun as this one. New Yorkers are a bunch of lucky ba**ards! What a marked and striking contrast from the violent London transportation system. A little investigation by enthusiastic Redditors revealed that the singer is Jessica Latshaw. Here is Jessica blogging about her Subway jammin’ experience on her blog.
The owner of a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport decided to get creative when his vehicle got stolen from his work parking lot and put together this awesome poster and placed it around the town. Thanks to fellow redditor hottest_man_alive, we now got to see this on the web.. Hope the owner gets his truck back soon! I like the message at the bottom right hand corner “Really? At Christmas Time? Not Cool Man, Not Cool.” Whoever that Grinch is, please return this man’s Cherokee. Oh, the sweet irony is the license plate – OHHSNAP!
